Needs sufficient water pressure for proper working.
Sufficient for washing underside of car, which has thick layers of collected mud. Only catch - needs sufficient pressure. I use direct tap water as I have good pressure from my municipal supply. I do not have a pressure guage to check, but I guess the pressure will be around 2 bar (i.e. 2 atmosphere pressure). This pressure is easily available in a good water supply. I was planning to buy a pump, but found out that the hassle of connecting the pump can be avoided if the water supply itself have the pressure. As for me I get a very narrow (~4mm) jet of water at a high velocity which is more than sufficient for DIY cleaning of the underside of vehicles.
